Gujarat assembly election 2017 68% voting in the first phase: Polling for first phase of Gujarat assembly elections is peaceful on Saturday. According to preliminary estimates, 68 percent of the voting was done. There are no major complaints, except in cases where technical defects are created in EVMs (Electronic Voting Machine) and VVPAT (Water Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) in some places. Apart from Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, seven ministers of his government, the political future of 977 candidates, including two former leaders of Shaktisinh Gohil and Arjun Modhwadia, have been sealed in EVMs. Patidar voters saw a large queue on the morning of the morning in Patna-affected Saurashtra and Surat seats.
Both sides have claimed their own winnings but the debate has begun / who will be benefitted / who will benefit from the decreasing 4% of the last polling for the 2012 assembly elections. Polling for 39 seats will be held on 14th of the second phase. Counting of votes will be done on 18th.
In the first phase, the highest number of 75.75% in Navsari and Morbi districts and 60% in Porbandar and 62% in Bhavnagar. In nine districts like Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Tapi, Surat, Narmada, Gir-Somnath and Morbi, more than 70 percent of the voting was done. There are also more voting in South Gujarat district and tribal belt. In Saurashtra, except for Morbi, Somnath, the remaining districts and Kutch have got less voting. A total of 2,12,31,652 voters, including 1,11,05,933 men, 1,01,25,472 women, were to exercise their franchise in the first phase, but about 68 percent of the voting took place till 5 pm. The preliminary estimation of this is being given. In the last assembly elections of 2012, total voting was 72.02 percent.
