Apart from this, the traffic brigade has also announced an increase of four thousand volunteers. The honorarium of traffic brigade personnel will also be increased.
Gujarat Police Bharti Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel, who is in charge of the finance department, announced in the Vidyan Sabha on Tuesday that special provision of 200 crores has been made in view of the number of vehicles rising in the urban areas of the state. The police force will be recruited directly to the 5635 posts in the next year. In this, 1500 places will be filled for traffic purpose.
Apart from this, 4000 volunteers will be recruited in the traffic brigade. 33% women will be included in this. This will increase the number of traffic brigade from 6000 to 10,000. The traffic brigade volunteers are now increased to Rs. 300 per day for the honorarium of Rs. 200 per month.
Apart from this, budget has also been made to purchase equipment for tackling traffic problems in eight major cities and to avoid the problem of parking due to illegal traffic. A provision of Rs.360 crore has been made for the construction of residential and non-residential houses of police.
A provision of Rs. 102 crores has been made for putting CCTV cameras in cities. A total of 97 crores has been provided for the construction of jails including Ahmedabad Central Jail, Himmatnagar District Jail and construction of Mehsana Prison.
One crore rupees have been made for starting four new cyber crime police stations in Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and Mehsana. A total of Rs 57 crores has been made to modernize the police system and strengthen the forensic science system.
