Acting on Prime Minister's this vision, the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti being the nodal Department coordinated with all Ministries/Departments to finalize and collate their Swachhta Action Plan (SAP). In the financial year 2017-18, 76 Ministries/Departments have earmarked funds worth 5248 crore rupees for their swachhta plans. Each Ministry/Department has started implementing its SAP from 1st April 2017.

The object behind this portal is to highlight the contribution and efforts proposed by 76 Ministries/Departments of Govt. of India. Progress in the implementation of the Swachhta Action Plan can be tracked and monitored by MDWS, the Committee of Secretaries, Cabinet Secretary, and the Prime Minister's Office. Presently the portal is being accessed by all 76 Ministries/Departments to upload their SAP with budget, activities, photographs, reports.
